Why Tech Isn’t as Scary as You Think
Tech feel scary? I thought so too, until I went from tech phobic to digital cartoon creator.

Hey Suzanne Glover here and I’ve been exploring the “fear” of tech – you know, fear of online funnels and things like that... And like most entrepreneurs, I once thought it was complicated—fear of the unknown mixed with its stigma of seeming complicated. But when I pulled back the curtain with an open mind to explore it, I realized, “That’s all there is to it. Wow, that’s easy!”
Down the yellow brick road...
It’s like the Wizard of Oz – remember that movie? From the outside, the big, animated Wizard on the wall—a technical facade—looked threatening. But when the little dog yanked the curtain back, it was simply a timid man pulling ropes to make it seem enormous. Once revealed, the Wizard wasn’t scary.
That’s tech when approached the right way—intimidating until you see its simplicity with the proper training.
That’s why I use “task-oriented” training with clients... Instead of overwhelming clients with unneeded software minutia, I provide pre-tested workflows for their funnel or marketing tasks. Then all they have to do is focus on completing each step, making tech really manageable.
I learned this back in the 90's when I digitized my cartoon book. Before that, I’d only used computers as “glorified” typewriters, so coloring cartoons for print stumped me.
But then a consultant showed up who introduced me to computer graphics. And although I was reluctant, he made it easy because he gave me a step-by-step workflow to complete the book...
Scan cartoons into one program, export to another, color, reassemble & print. I knew I could do this... rented a computer, followed his steps and was instantly productive.
That win totally built my confidence, changing me from a typewriter user to a digital creator of a cartoon book.
Here's my point... the fear of tech traps entrepreneurs, but task-oriented training simplifies it.
Here's a tip: Next time you have a “tech task” to do, take a deep breath and shift your mindset from “ugh” to “let's explore this” and you know what will happen? You'll most certainly find it's easier than you think.
