Marketing With Video Is Easy With Suzanne... (& fun!)
Meet Suzanne...
I started my first business at age 19 so I'd have the time freedom to pursue modeling. But when I reached my twenties and was "too old" for modeling, I had to segue to speaking on camera to continue my career - much like businesses today who need to adapt to the camera to stay visible and relevant.
Since marketing myself came easy, I hustled and landed my first TV commercial back in the '80s. I thought it'd be a breeze since I could speak well in public (sound familiar?). But something happened that changed everything...
I froze the first time I had to speak on camera! It was embarrassing to say the least as the Director and crew looked frustrated and disappointed. But I knew I needed to dig deep. So I said, "Let's go, I'm ready," and when the second take was done, the crew was elated and that commercial went on to be award-winning.
That's when I thought I knew everything about being on camera and winning auditions - much like business people today when it comes to showing up on camera and making people listen. It's a typical response inside the industry to think you know it all when you get a little bit of knowledge, and I'm seeing it happen to business owners now too
Well, I still marketed myself... still got work, but nothing in the "big time." I even beat the pavement and got an agent. But I was playing small.
Finally, I got the right help...
I set my ego aside, got the right mentor who actually knew the correct "tricks of the trade" and landed my first national commercial! That's when everything changed again! I received residual checks in the mail for several years from that one spot and was ushered into the "elite" of the industry - serving on the Screen Actors Guild Executive Council, co-directing and training for their acting conservatory for more than a decade and opening my own studio.
From there, I kept reinventing myself - expanding my sales chops offline writing newspaper advertorials, hiring call centers and even selling Timeshare with integrity when it felt like a stretch. Then I took it online, building a content site from scratch that pulled in hundreds of thousands of visitors - proof I could hustle in any world. Even when life threw heavy "midlife" curveballs - elder care, burnout, hysterectomy, letting go of 90% of my world - I kept going, launching my own supplement line and cracking high-ticket sales.
Now after 45 years of blending my acting, marketing and sales knowledge into a new kind of "triple threat," I'm doing something big - helping "mid-lifers" like us scale smarter with my Video Influencing System™
